What keyhole lips look like before you ask for them
Keyhole lips leave a small gap in the center of the upper lip when the mouth rests closed. People chase the look after seeing a photo with that notch lit just right. In person it is quieter. The gap only shows if your cupid’s bow and tooth show already lean that way.
I write the shape name on my phone before the consult. Then I say what I want kept: border soft or sharp, center height or outer fullness, and whether I still want to look like myself in harsh office light.
Questions that cut the fluff:
- Do my lips already have a natural center gap, or would filler need to force one?
- How much product stays in the center versus the sides if we aim for that notch?
- What happens when I smile hard. Does the gap disappear?
If you want a plain walkthrough of what the keyhole lip look actually is, that page is the one I keep open.
For other named shapes in one place, start with a rundown of lip filler styles and their names.
Not medical advice. Patient-side notes so the consult stays about tradeoffs.
